I got this CD by accident from Alex at one of the punk rock shows in Krakow. That was the first Rut Host record I ever heard. My first experience was: Ive heard it before somewhere...they are playing good but there is something missing here. But I played it a few times more, and I thought man its really great. I dont like those new punk rock bands from the USA which are singing about girls, beer and nothing else. Rut Host is like a first wave punk rock band from the States that reminds me of the Ramones.
The Live Alone CD is very special, even for a live record since there were almost no people on this gig - you can hear only single hands clapping after each song. I can easily recommend this CD to anyone who likes good punk rock music. But if you like Blink 182 just forget about listening to this record....In my opinion the best songs are: "Blacklist", "The Witch", and of course, for personal reasons (Im from Krakow), "Krakked on Krakow". Rock and roll!!!
Live alone trafił w moje ręce całkiem przypadkowo, kiedy to na koncercie punk rockowym w Krakowie spotkałem Alexa i wręczył mi chyba jeszcze roboczą kopię płyty. Najlepsze piosenki według mnie to: Blacklist, The witch i oczywicie z powodów osobistych (Jestem z Krakowa) Krakked on Krakow....

All those who haven't fallen into the traps of MTV's ideas about such mainstream bands such as Blink182 and The Offspring being "punk", still have a small grasp on the original punk rock way. Although few bands such as RUT HOST give us a shovel to scoop through the junk the radio airwaves force us to hear, old ideas and familiar faces are once again shedding light. When RUT HOST first hit European soil, their experienced musicians brought the sounds of early 80's American punk rock (think dead kennedys, flaming lips), and they played their hearts out in former eastern bloc countries and war torn lands. Many of these places are havens for punk rockers, whose ideas reflect strongly against what the government is doing to the land, and RUT HOST brings that kind of support with them. Without being political, this threesome manage to enlighten crowds with their fast paced, high octane fueled sets. With the efforts from energetic J.R. and his pummeling bass, thunderous drumming from Budapest native Chaba and crazed vocal/axeman Alex, RUT HOST create a sound very big in contrast to their size. Detailed and sometimes humourous lyrics explaining thier triumphs and tragedies throughout their lives and European tours give a great addiction to the "Uninvited" CD (Nephilim Records). |
